RALEIGH, N.C. — Police are searching for a man in connection with a 2006 robbery and for questioning in a recent slaying.

Carlos "Sombrerito" Gutierrez, 40, is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with a hold-up of a person in the 1400 block of South Wilmington Street on Sept. 2, 2006, police said.

The Raleigh Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force also wants to question Gutierrez in the stabbing death of Pascual Cobix Xolo.

Xolo, 33, was found dead on June 3 behind a wall at the edge of the parking lot at a Sam's Club at 2537 S. Saunders St., police said.

Detectives think Gutierrez might be able to provide information that would assist the homicide investigation, police said.

Gutierrez is known to use several aliases, police said. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Raleigh Police Department’s Detective Division at 919-890-3555 or CrimeStoppers at 919-226-CRIME.
