Man suffers collapsed lung after Fayetteville library stabbing

A homeless man suffered a collapsed lung, among other injuries, after he was stabbed by another homeless man inside the main branch of the Cumberland County Library on Tuesday.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A homeless man suffered a collapsed lung, among other injuries, after he was stabbed by another homeless man inside the main branch of the Cumberland County Library on Tuesday.

Dantrell Steven Johnson was arrested and charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. He was held in the Cumberland County jail Tuesday under a $200,000 bond.

Johnson is accused of stabbing Timothy Rivers in the neck. Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office investigators say the stabbing was the result of an ongoing dispute.
