Police in Fayetteville are looking for a man they believe sexually assaulted a woman early Wednesday morning.

<b>FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.</b> — Police in Fayetteville are looking for a man they believe sexually assaulted a woman early Wednesday morning.

The 28-year-old woman was walking along Mike Street between 3 and 4 a.m. when the man grabbed her from behind, dragged her off the road and sexually assaulted her, police said Friday.

He was described as a black man in his mid-20s with a goatee and short hair that appeared to have been recently cut.  He was about 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighed approximately 180 pounds.  He fled the scene wearing a black T-shirt, black pants and white sneakers.<br />

Investigators said they do not believe the attack is related to an attempted sexual assault on Cliffdale Road on March 17.

Police are asking anyone with information about the assailant to contact investigators at 910-257-3668 or to call Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.
