Man sought in Durham burglaries

Durham police are searching for 34-year-old Jody Alonzo Davis who they believe committed several burglaries last Saturday.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are searching for a man they believe committed several burglaries last Saturday.

Jody Alonzo Davis, 34, is wanted on charges of first-degree burglary and larceny after breaking-and-entering.

Davis's last known address is 1920 Washington St. Police said he is known to frequent the Westend and Southside areas.

Davis is described as a black man, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Davis’ whereabouts should call police Investigator M.A. Clancy at 919-560-4583 ext. 29365 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.

According to state Department of Correction records, Davis' criminal record dates to 1993 and includes nine convictions for breaking-and-entering, three each for burglary and larceny, and one for manufacturing drugs, among others.
