Rocky Mount police are searching for a 22-year-old man on charges that he used a broken bottle to attack a woman he had been dating Wednesday night.

<b>ROCKY MOUNT, N.C.</b> — Rocky Mount police are searching for a 22-year-old man on charges that he used a broken bottle Wednesday night to attack a woman he had been dating.

Police said Christopher Bastien, 22, argued with Shakita McNeil, 23, outside in the 800 block of Cokey Road, about her use of his cell phone.

He found a bottle and broke it on the curb, police said, then attacked McNeil, saying he was going to kill her. She escaped and ran into 708 Cokey Road.

McNeil suffered severe lacerations to her her hand and was treated at Nash General Hospital, police said.

Bastien has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Police are searching for him.
