Man slain in Goldsboro double shooting

A 21-year-old Goldsboro man died of injuries he suffered in a double shooting late Sunday, police said.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A 21-year-old Goldsboro man died of injuries he suffered in a double shooting late Sunday, police said.

Someone fired a single shot into a moving vehicle in the 900 block of Olivia Lane around 10:15 p.m., and a bullet struck Darrel Maurice Best, police said. The driver, Brandon Maurice Turner, 18, of Goldsboro, suffered an injury to his ear.

Best was pronounced dead at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Turner was treated and released from the hospital.

No arrests have been made.
