Man shot in face in Fayetteville

A man was shot in the face near the intersection of Branson and Bryan streets in Fayetteville early Monday morning, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man was shot in the face near the intersection of Branson and Bryan streets in Fayetteville early Monday morning, police said.

Witnesses told investigators that Michael Fisher, 22, was shot while getting into a parked vehicle shortly after midnight. He was conscious when officers arrived at the scene, police said.

Fisher was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and then transferred to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. He was listed in critical condition on Tuesday.
