RALEIGH, N.C. — A man running from police in north Raleigh Friday afternoon darted into traffic and was hit by a car.

Northbound lanes of Capital Boulevard just north of Interstate 440 were closed for about an hour between Trawick and Buffaloe roads.

Police were called to 3412 Capital Blvd. on a report that a man had punched out a car window. Once there, officers found Kendale Gerod Hill, 28, who matched the description they had of the suspect.

He ran. They chased him, and he ran into Capital Boulevard.

Raleigh Police Department spokesman Jim Sughrue said Hill was taken to WakeMed and that his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Hill has a history of arrests dating to 2011, with the most recent coming last August, when he was charged with possession of counterfeit money.
