FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Martin Luther King Jr. Freeway was closed for about three hours early Thursday while police investigated an accident that killed a man.

They said the man was walking near the exit ramp to Bragg Boulevard at approximately 1:20 a.m. when he was struck by a 2008 burgundy Dodge Avenger.

Police did not immediately release the names of either the driver or the person killed.

Anyone with information about the traffic fatality is asked to call the Fayetteville Police Department 910-433-1830.
