Man killed in Johnston County wreck
One person was killed Tuesday afternoon in a crash near Middlesex, authorities said.
Posted — UpdatedA car and a pickup collided on N.C. Highway 42 near Renfrow Narron Road at about 1 p.m., authorities said.
A westbound Toyota ran off the highway and over-corrected, crossing the center line and colliding head-on with a Nissan pickup, authorities said. The pickup then ran off the road into a ditch.
Rajkumar Nagamuthu, 39, of Clayton, who was driving the Toyota, died at the scene, authorities said. Gregory Wright, 49, and Terry Wright, 47, both of Middlesex, who were in the pickup, were taken to WakeMed with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
