Man killed in Fayetteville wreck

A two-vehicle collision in Fayetteville early Sunday killed a man and has shut down part of Raeford Road, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A two-vehicle collision in Fayetteville early Sunday killed a man and has shut down part of Raeford Road, police said.

A Ford Explorer and another vehicle collided on Raeford Road, near Hampton Oaks Drive, police said. Two people were taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the Ford Explorer died of his injuries. Information about the condition of the second person was not available.

Their names were withheld, pending notification of family.

Police were investigating the cause of the wreck.

The outbound lanes of Raeford Road, headed toward Hoke County, have been shut down. Inbound traffic is flowing normally.
