Man hospitalized following attempted robbery in Durham
An 18-year-old man was taken to the hospital late Monday after being hit on the head with a gun during an attempted robbery, Durham police said.

Officers responding to the 200 block of Cook Road about 11:15 p.m. found the man with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators said he was approached by another man who demanded money. When the victim refused, the man hit him on the head with a gun and fired a shot that did not strike anyone.
The man fled the area without taking anything from the victim.
No other information was released.
