A man died and a woman was seriously injured in what investigators described as an attempted murder-suicide early Sunday morning on Crockers Nub Road in Johnston County. The road is located between Kenly and Middlesex.

<b>MIDDLESEX, N.C.</b> — A man died and a woman was seriously injured in what investigators described as an attempted murder-suicide early Sunday morning on Crockers Nub Road in Johnston County. The road is located between Kenly and Middlesex.

Neighbors and family members identified the couple as Justin and Markie Taylor. Deputies, who were initially called to the home for a domestic dispute, believe Justin Taylor shot his wife before killing himself sometime before 3:40 a.m.

Markie Taylor was taken to WakeMed in serious condition. No other information was released.
