RALEIGH, N.C. — A 24-year-old Raleigh man is accused of passing a stopped school bus, hitting a 7-year-old girl and then fleeing the scene on Wednesday, according to an arrest warrant.

Carlos Martinez-Garcia, of 3000-67 Stonybrook Drive, faces charges of felony hit-and-run, failure to stop for a school bus and driving without a valid license.

Police spokesman Laura Hourigan said the girl was knocked to the ground at 3000 Stonybrook Drive around 10:30 a.m. She was fine, Hourigan said.

Information about what school the girl attends was not immediately available.

Martinez-Garcia was being held in the Wake County jail Thursday under a $6,000 bond.
