Man charged with arson, attempted murder following Kinston house fire
A man has been charged with arson and attempted murder after starting a fire Friday in a Kinston home.
Posted — UpdatedKINSTON, N.C. — A man has been charged with arson and attempted murder after flames engulfed a home Friday.
According to the Kinston Department of Public Safety, authorities responded to a fire and explosion at 804 McCaskill Drive around 8:30 p.m.
Investigations revealed that the fire was started intentionally.
Nathaniel Webb Jr., 43, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and first-degree arson. According to investigators, Webb set fire to a propane cylinder on the back porch of the home.
Webb was placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a $500,000 bond.
