Man charged in three armed robberies
A 33-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on charges that he committed two robberies in Rocky Mount and one robbery in Sharpsburg, according to Rocky Mount police.e.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A 33-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on charges that he committed two robberies in Rocky Mount and one robbery in Sharpsburg, according to Rocky Mount police.
Investigators believe that Charles Michael Phillips carried a knife during a Jan. 10 robbery of an EP Mart store, 701 S. Wesleyan Blvd., and a Jan. 11 robbery of a Kangaroo Express store, 3537 Sunset Ave. Details about the Sharpsburg robbery weren't available.
Phillips was charged with three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon.
