Man charged in Four Oaks slaying

Johnston County deputies on Tuesday arrested a Four Oaks man in connection with a slaying early Monday.

FOUR OAKS, N.C. — Johnston County deputies on Tuesday arrested a Four Oaks man in connection with a slaying early Monday.

Nestor Arreola Aguilar, 31, was charged with murder in the death of Luis Aguilar Cortez.

Cortez, 34, was shot to death inside his home, at 2433 Hockaday Road, at about 4:30 a.m. Monday, authorities said.

Aguilar was arrested at a mobile home near Newton Grove, authorities said.

No details about a possible motive for the shooting or what evidence led to Aguilar's arrest were released.
