Man arrested in robbery that Cumberland County deputy responded to moments before his death

Antonio Craig Bradley was arrested in a robbery that occurred on Friday, Dec. 16, at the Circle K convenience store on Gillespie Street.

Responding deputy Oscar Yovani Bolanos-Anavisca Jr. died from being hit by an accused drunk driver. He was just 23 years old and formerly a School Resource Officer at Hope Mills Middle School.

Bolanos-Anavisca was investigating a robbery around 2:45 a.m. Friday that happened at the Circle K at 2990 Gillespie St. He was with the K-9 unit to track the robbery suspect, when authorities said a drunk driver hit him.

On Sunday, Bradley ran from deputies during the initial arrest attempt, but was apprehended after a short chase and was charged with resist, delay, and obstruct.

Bradley was also charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, and possession of stolen goods from a theft on Nov. 17 at the same Circle K.

Bradley is currently at the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $52,500.00 secured bond.

The driver, Nicholas Terlizzi, 24, of Linden, faces felony charges of death by vehicle and hit-and-run resulting in death. He faces misdemeanor charges of driving while impaired, reckless driving to endanger, driving on a restricted license, driving without insurance and driving without registration, according to North Carolina State Highway Patrol records. He was also cited with a red light infraction, the record states.

Memorial services for Bolanos-Anavisca will be held on Dec. 23. A visitation will start at 10 a.m. with the funeral starting at 2 p.m. at Rivers of Living Water Church in Fayetteville. The public is welcome to attend.
