Man arrested after high-speed chase in Zebulon
Police said John B. Gooden, who had outstanding warrants in two counties, fled from a routine traffic stop at Barbee Street and Westside Circle.
Posted — UpdatedGooden, 48, of 172 Nasqua Drive in Louisburg, was charged with felony speeding to elude arrest, assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer, injury to personal property, driving with a license while revoked and probation violations.
He was being held in the Wake County Jail Sunday under a $63,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was set for Monday.
According to state Department of Correction records, Gooden was placed on probation in 2008 after being convicted of felony larceny and felony breaking-and-entering in Wake County.
