FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville man shot and injured two other men during an argument over a bed, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said.

Veronte "Thuggy" Montedious White, 25, of 1127 Bernadine Street, argued with two men over the ownership of a bed in a home he was renting, deputies said.

During the argument, White pulled out a gun and shot at the two other men several times, officials said.

Elvis Lee Eason was shot once in the back while he was running away from White, deputies said. Otis Lamont Cooper was hit in the left arm by a stray bullet.

Both men were treated for their injuries at the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Deputies took White into custody on Monday night and charged him with two counts of attempted murder.

White is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $100,000 bond, deputies said. He made his first court appearance on Tuesday morning.
