RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police arrested a man they believe robbed an Hispanic grocery store on New Bern Avenue Wednesday.

Steven Lamans Johnson, 27, of 601 Six Oaks Lane, Apt. 102, was charged Friday with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

An arrest warrant states that a man pointed a gun at employees of El Ranchito, at 3110 New Bern Ave., and demanded money. He got away with more than $1,750.

Johnson was placed in the Wake County jail under a $200,000 secured bond. He was scheduled to appear in court Monday.

State Department of Correction records show that he has 2006 convictions for assault on a female and communicating threats and a 2003 conviction for failure to stop for an accident.
