Man accused of breaking into downtown Raleigh's The Oxford

Police have arrested a man accused of stealing $700 in cash and bourbon from The Oxford in downtown Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police have arrested a man accused of stealing $700 in cash and bourbon from a downtown Raleigh restaurant and bar.

John Patrick Shannon, 53, of 1420 S. Wilmington St., was charged Monday with two felony counts of breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering and one misdemeanor count of injury to personal property.

According to an arrest warrant, Shannon allegedly broke into The Oxford, at 319 Fayetteville St., on either Sunday or Monday and stole $400 in cash as well as bourbon.

Shannon was jailed Monday afternoon under a $21,000 secured bond.
