Man accused of assaulting sister, 2-year-old boy

An 18-year-old Raleigh man was charged with assaulting his sister and a 2-year-old boy Saturday, according to an arrest warrant.

RALEIGH, N.C. — An 18-year-old Raleigh man was charged with assaulting his sister and a 2-year-old boy Saturday, according to an arrest warrant.

The warrant states that Shawn Michael Travis picked up the boy over his head and dropped him. Travis hit his sister in the face and head with a closed fist and refused to stop assaulting her when police arrived, according to the warrant.

He was charged with assault on a female, assault on a child under 12 and resisting a public officer.

Travis was placed in the Wake County jail under a $10,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was set for Sept. 15.
