A 51-year-old Parkton man was found dead Wednesday evening in his home, sheriff's office officials said Thursday. 

<b>PARKTON, N.C.</b> — A 51-year-old Parkton man was found dead Wednesday evening in his home, Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said Thursday. 

Cumberland County authorities dispatched to the home, at 2072 Lake Upchurch Road, found Joseph Durant III dead on the living room floor about 9:30 p.m. Durant's wife called police. 

Authorities did not release any other information about Durant's death. 

His body was being sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Raleigh for an autopsy.
