A 28-year-old man died early Tuesday after a home invasion and shooting in Linden, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

<b>LINDEN, N.C.</b> — A 28-year-old man died early Tuesday after a home invasion and shooting in Linden, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

According to investigators, three masked men entered the home, in the 8900 block of Ramsey Street, and held Roderick Dean Scott and his girlfriend at gunpoint.

Scott was then shot, and his girlfriend's hands were tied. Investigators said Scott died at the scene.

No other information about the incident has been released.

According to the Danville Police Department, officers received a tip of prior animal abuse at a pet grooming store on Hairston Street in Danville. In the complaint, a video showed the employee, identified as 22-year-old Cassidy Gill, striking a dog in January and February. The video in the complaint was shared with other social media accounts, including PETA.
