Made by Mom Gift Guide: Redhanded Design Studio grows, adds Saturday sewing classes for kids

Tracy Turney of Redhanded Design Studio in Apex has been busy since we last heard from her in September. We're catching up with the mom of two as part of our Made by Mom Gift Guide.
Last year, Turney and her husband opened the studio in Apex to offer sewing and design services and programs and camps for the community. Turney teaches sewing classes to kids and adults and offers camps and birthday parties.
And she continues to make handbags, using eco-friendly products and faux leather. The pieces - everything from clutches to computer bags - are sold at boutiques across the country and on her website.
Turney tells me business has been good at the studio. She recently began offering Saturday afternoon classes for children and teens. Projects include a monogrammed handbag, a wallet and a stuffed animal.
"The classes have been growing," she tells me.
