Mays and Noonan started Klen Shop after realizing just how many chemicals and other ingredients are in the tubes of lip gloss and other products that their families were using. That light bulb moment came after Mays took a look at what was in the tubes of lip gloss that her toddler daughter seemed to not only smear across her lips, but also eat.

"I started looking at all of the ingredients and thinking she's literally digesting so much junk," said Mays, whose daughter was just 2 at the time.

The two got to work, developing a full line of products. They have continued to expand.

The two have added a soap scrub; 100 percent soy candles, which come in a re-purposeable jar; an all-purpose salve called Klen Magic; and that lice prevention spray.

"We can personally attest to its effectiveness after both our daughters were head to head all night on Halloween with two girls that had lice and our girls remain lice free," they tell me.

For the holidays, they've rolled out some Christmas flavors, including peppermint in their gloss and Gator Balm (which is designed for kids). You can also load up on peppermint body scrub, soap scrub, lotion candles and more.
