The Macy's location at Cary Towne Center is one of 36 stores closing this year after falling sales during the holidays.
The store will be closing in early spring and according to the article above, the 63 employees will be relocated or laid off.
In addition to store closings, Macy's will be eliminating up to 4,800 jobs.
An increase in online shopping this holiday as well as unseasonably warm weather both contributed to the falling in-store sales and store closings.
