Lynda Loveland: Toss 10 things now!

As I start the bi-annual summer/winter clothes swap for the kids and myself, I am reminded, once again, that we have a lot of extra crap we don't need.

As I start the bi-annual summer/winter clothes swap for the kids and myself, I am reminded, once again, that we have a lot of extra crap we don’t need.

As I watch my husband put up the Easter decorations in the garage, I realize that we do indeed have a lot of extra crap.

And as I walk into the office/playroom, I know for a fact that we have waaay too much crap!

All it does is add stress to my life. Like I need a second helping of that! Every time I see stuff sitting around I think, "I'll get around to doing something with it." But you know what, I never do because of one thing or another and then it just haunts me. Kinda like the bad guy in Scary Movie, not really scary, he just kinda ticks me off.

Consider this a call to action! It's time to get rid of the kid/adult stuff we don't need! Doesn't it feel great when you get rid of clutter, whether you throw it away or give it away?

I read a story about a woman who pledges to toss 10 things a day for a year. She writes about it on her blog. It inspired me. It can be anything from plastic bags to hair brushes to old socks. It doesn't have to be big, it just has to be something.

If you do it starting today, you can toss 2,640 things by the end of the year! Don't forget you can sell things too. My husband just sold about a dozen clutter-makers online. I'm in the process of rounding up my daughters' neglected Barbies and American Girl dolls. My son's superheroes are on my most wanted list too. Nothing's safe! Good luck!

Let's say it together, de-clutter and de-stress.
