Police said the pair entered the Exxon Shop, located at 2801 Rowland Ave. in Lumberton, on Aug. 1 and made a small purchase before stealing cash and two lottery tickets.

Lumberton police searching for suspects who stole winning lotto tickets
LUMBERTON, N.C. — Lumberton police are looking for two men who stole winning lottery tickets from a gas station.

Police said the pair entered the Exxon Shop, located at 2801 Rowland Ave. in Lumberton, on Aug. 1 and made a small purchase. As the clerk was completing the purchase, the larger man pulled out a gun and proceeded to grab cash from the open register.

As the suspects left the shop, he also grabbed two $20 scratch-off lottery tickets.

Both tickets won small sums of money and were cashed in Fayetteville about one hour after the robbery occurred, police said.

The first suspect is described by police as a 5’10’’ black man with a goatee weighing between 350 and 400 pounds. He was wearing grey sweatpants and a grey short-sleeve shirt. The second suspect is described as a 6’1” black man with a thin, full beard weighing between 160 and 190 pounds. He was wearing black pants, black shoes, and a grey New York Yankees baseball cap.
