Lowes Foods & Harris Teeter trading stores in multiple NC towns!

Lowes Foods officially announced today that they have an agreement to transfer stores between Lowes Foods and Harris Teeter chains in multiple NC towns. The Triangle is not affected by this deal, but some of our readers in other parts of North Carollina will find that their Harris Teeter or Lowes Foods stores will be changing in the very near future. Lowes Foods officially announced today that they have an agreement to transfer stores between Lowes Foods and Harris Teeter chains in multiple NC towns. The Triangle is not affected by this deal, but some of our readers in other parts of North Carollina will find that their Harris Teeter or Lowes Foods stores will be changing in the very near future.  If you are affected by this transfer, let us know what you think about it. According to the Lowes Foods website HERE, "Lowes Foods is transferring 10 Lowes Foods stores to Harris Teeter and acquiring 6 Harris Teeter locations."

Here are the Lowes Foods stores that will be closing with some stores closing as early as June 12. Most of these stores will become Harris Teeter stores:

Mint Hill, NC
Fort Mill, SC
Davidson, NC
Cornelius, NC
Huntersville, NC
Matthews, NC
Wesley Chapel, NC
Charlotte, NC - Ballentyne
Charlotte, NC - Davis Lake

Charlotte, NC - Providence Rd.

There are six current Harris Teeter stores that will become Lowes Foods stores after they are re-modeled including these locations:

3010 N Center Street, Hickory, NC

1145 E Marion Street, Shelby, NC

401 Cox Road, Gastonia, NC (Gaston Mall)

1751 Neal Hawkins Road, Gastonia, NC

210 Avery Ave., Morganton, NC

1378 Hendersonville Rd., Asheville, NC

The transition comes as Publix enters the grocery market near Charlotte. They are planning to open 2 stores in South Carolina, near Charlotte, in late 2012.
