RALEIGH, N.C. — Lynda Loveland will move from mornings to nights, anchoring the WRAL News on FOX 50 at 4 and 10 p.m. alongside Gerald Owens.

Lynda and Gerald will also anchor WRAL's 5:30 p.m. evening news.

"I am delighted Lynda will be co-anchoring with Gerald Owens," said Steve Hammel, vice president & general manager of WRAL-TV & FOX 50. "Lynda is already well known to our viewers. Her energy, personality and passion will add to the great team we have in place."

Lynda started her stint in Raleigh as a weekend anchor on FOX 50 17 years ago. She's worked just about every shift at WRAL News – contributing to the weekday evening newscasts and anchoring with Bill Leslie on the morning and noon news.

Lynda took a five-year break from television to co-host the morning show on WRAL-FM before returning to WRAL-TV last year.

“I’m thrilled to be given this new opportunity," Lynda said. "Whichever shift I’m on, it always feels like I’m working with family."

WRAL-TV News Director Rick Gall said he expected a smooth transition when Lynda joins FOX 50 on Monday.

“Lynda is a talented, personable and seasoned anchor," Gall said. "Her presence on these newscasts will enhance them as we move forward.”
