RALEIGH, N.C. — The 141st Kentucky Derby is this Saturday, and if you can't make it to Louisville, at least you can attend one of the Triangle's Derby Day events:
A Day at the Derby at Washington Duke Inn: The inn will be celebrating the Derby all day long with TV coverage, brunch, afternoon tea and more! The three-course "Derby at Dusk" dinner is $35. And don't forget to check out their Derby cocktails!
Derby Day Party at The Oxford in Raleigh: Wear your best big hat or seersucker suit to this event in downtown Raleigh. Admission is free, but there is southern-style buffet that you will need a ticket for. Party starts at 4 p.m.
Clayton Derby Day Gala at Portofino: WRAL's own Gerald Owens will be hosting this party that starts at 5 p.m. This year's "gala" format includes a red carpet, live broadcast of the Derby, gourmet meal and dancing. Tickets are $125 with a portion of proceeds going to the Johnston County Alzheimer's Music and Memory program.
