RALEIGH, N.C. — Fire officials are investigating whether a lightning strike caused a shed fire in Raleigh Wednesday evening.

The shed, on Creedmoor Road near Falls Lake, burst into flames around 5 p.m.

Neighbors said they saw lightning hit the building.

The exact cause remains under investigation.

A cold front moving in from the north brought spotty storms to central North Carolina Wednesday afternoon and evening, bringing heavy rain and some lightning strikes.
