At I-440 at Jones Franklin Road in Raleigh, drivers saw lane closure signs that were leftover from overnight construction for traffic in the opposite direction.

<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — A contractor mistake confused drivers along Interstate 440 Thursday morning.

The contractor was supposed to fold down the signs, but did not, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
