Have you seen the latest list of North Carolina’s Top Tourist Destinations? It was compiled by Carolina Publishing Associates of Matthews, publishers of the annual Carolina Heritage Guide and Carolina and Virginia Field Trips Magazines.

America’s largest home came in at number. The Biltmore House was named the most visited attraction among the state’s public and private museums and historic sites.

Rounding out the top five: Discovery Place in Charlotte, NC Zoo in Asheboro, NC Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh and Fort Macon State Park near Beaufort.

What is your top five? Please share.

Here is my top five: Blue Ridge Parkway, Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Grandfather Mountain, the Triangle and Charlotte. I put the Triangle in there because of all of the great museums including Natural Sciences and wonderful college campuses. I like Charlotte because of the big city feel, professional sports and cultural events.
