Congratulations to "mdoodle" for correctly guessing my vacation destination of Washington State. We had a wonderful family trip that is probably best captured in the slide show that accompanies today's blog entry. Special thanks to WRAL.com Multimedia Specialist Nathan Clendenin for for weaving my photos, narration and music together.
I would also like to thank WRAL Meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner for helping me plan the trip. Ten years ago Elizabeth took a very similar vacation in the Pacific Northwest with her parents. Her suggestions for lodging, whale watching and hikes were invaluable.
I'd love to get your feedback on the slideshow. Tomorrow I will talk more about the trip including a voracious appetite for salmon, airport delays and how I almost bumped into a former US president on the trip.
