Boone Weather

My favorite place to go for weather is WRAL. You can't beat the pros in the Weather Center for accuracy. But I have another favorite this time of year when I long for a little ice and snow. Check out Ray's site at: http://booneweather.com/boone/forecast.php. It's where everyone in Boone checks the weather. I hear ole Ray started the website because Boone's weather is so unique. Ray is a golfer and judges the quality of weather each day on the number of golf balls it receives. A five golf ball day is simply glorious. A one golf ball day is only for ducks or polar bears. Ray also has public service announcements, an online store and wonderful photo collections. The photograph above is an example. Ray is a lot like Greg Fishel in that he makes the weather interesting and funny. Not to mention he's right on the ball most of the time - just like Greg and company at WRAL.
