North Carolina has some of the most interesting names for towns, creeks, swamps and mountains. I have a compiled a list of my favorite Halloween related names. I’ve drawn from my own Tar Heel travels and those of UNC historian William S. Powell who authored The North Carolina Gazetteer. Please add your own names to the list.
