Lejeune Marine killed in Afghanistan

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — A Camp Lejeune Marine was killed Thursday in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Friday.

Lance Cpl. Abraham Tarwoe, 25, of Providence, R.I., died while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, officials said.

Tarwoe was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force.
