Editor's Note: Neatso, a new Raleigh-based company that's been dubbed the Uber of home cleaning, is sharing some tips for easy ways to keep our homes clean.

Everyone knows that keeping your home clean, or even somewhat clean, can seem like an insurmountable task. With school back in session and families on the move this time of year, the chore of house cleaning often gets overlooked.

Here at Neatso, we thought it would be helpful to assemble some tips from cleaning professionals who know all the tricks of the trade. These tips are from pros that have a combined 35 years of cleaning experience.

Tip 1

“I find that people really neglect their bathrooms, and there are some products that you can use that will clean FOR you. Something as simple as a Clorox bleach tablet in the tank can help keep the stains away in between cleanings. And for the tub, products like Scrub and Bubbles let you just spray it and walk away from it and it will make a tremendous difference.”

Tip 2

“If you ever notice those pesky little gnats flying around your sink drains, I know the way to get rid of them. Pour baking soda down them, and then white vinegar, and wash it down with hot water. I do it in all my drains. Cut lemon in wedges and grind them in the garbage disposal to keep it fresh.”

“For my home, I love using Lysol to help keep the kitchens and bathrooms fresh and germ-free between cleanings.”

Tip 3

I love using the toothbrush tool. It’s highly underrated. It looks like a toothbrush, but has wire or hard plastic bristles and is shaped like an old-school toothbrush. Those are great for cleaning in sinks. Another trick is Brillo steel wool pads. They easily get rid of green stains from calcium in the tub, grit on the stove and gets rid of the gross pink stuff in the shower.

Tip 4

“I use a special trick to get stains out of the bath tub - Magic Erasers. Nine times out of ten it will get the stains out or make them lighter.”

Tip 5

“Vinegar is an often overlooked, but powerful cleaning agent that’s inexpensive and eco-friendly. Here’s a couple of quick ways you can use it:

To clean your coffee maker: Fill the reservoir with white distilled vinegar and run the coffee maker through a brewing cycle. Empty then run another batch of clean water through

To clean a clogged or dirty showerhead: Add a cup of vinegar to a plastic storage bag then position the bag so that the showerhead sits in the vinegar. Soak it overnight then run the shower to rinse!
