A quick note to share that Dickey's Barbecue Pit is open in downtown Raleigh.
Kids eat free at the restaurant on Sundays (as they do at the Cary and Durham locations as well). Purchase one adult entree to get one free kids meal for kids ages 12 and under. I've updated our Kids Eat Free page.

The restaurant will be celebrating its grand opening on Wednesday with some special deals including sandwiches for $1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (while supplies last, limit two per person) and chances to win free barbecue for a year. The restaurant is at 170 East Davie St. in the Progress Energy building between City Market and Fayetteville Street.

The restaurant also will be accepting canned goods, blankets and cash from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday for the Raleigh Rescue Mission.
