K-9s find wanted man hiding in dog house
A man wanted on two charges fled from Fayetteville police late Thursday, only to be sniffed out by K-9 units as he hid inside a dog house, police said Friday.

Officers stopped a vehicle in Elvira Street because the owner had outstanding warrants for his arrest, but the driver sped off on Bragg Boulevard. Another officer later spotted the car on Cain Road and tried to stop it, but the driver led police on a brief chase before crashing on Imperial Drive, police said.
The driver fled the car on foot, and K-9 units were called in to assist with a search of the neighborhood. The dogs found the man hiding in a nearby dog house, police said.
Jerome Gordon Kelly, 44, of 2132 Elvira St., was charged with felony fleeing to elude, resisting, delaying and obstructing an officer, improper use of a dealer tag, reckless driving and hit and run. He was being held Friday in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $20,500 bond.
