GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The Wayne County Sheriff's Office said Friday that deputies arrested two juveniles in connection with reports that they brought a gun to a Goldsboro middle school.

The incident happened last Wednesday at Rosewood Middle School, authorities said. The children charged were not students at the school and had no contact with students.

A deputy found the juveniles about two miles from school grounds, and seized a .45-caliber pistol.

Juvenile petitions were filed for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a minor and possession of a weapon on school grounds.

The children were placed into a juvenile detention facility, authorities said.
