They say everything in moderation, right?

Well, we managed to throw that right out the window. In a big way.

For the most part, we are pretty even keeled. Will goes to bed early. We try to eat well-balanced meals. Screen time is monitored and restricted. If you ask my son, he'd probably tell you we're downright boring.

During Will's two week break from school, we all went a little haywire! Bedtime? There was no timetable! We watched movies and stayed up later than I thought a seven-year-old boy was capable.

Meals? I think my husband and I only cooked one or two nights the entire time! Mike and Will must have tried every fast food place in a mile radius of our house. We also learned you can get just about anything delivered right to your door!

Screen time? On one of those rainy days, I let Will play on his Wii for three hours straight. Three hours! What was I doing you might ask? Sitting on the couch, watching soap operas. He was in heaven and so was I.

But, all good things must come to an end. It's back to harsh reality for little guy... and for us. Honestly, I think we are all more than ready to get back on track ... and back to being boring.
