Joy it Forward opportunity: Benefacting.org

There's a new local nonprofit organization that unites people who have goods or services to volunteer, those looking for goods and services, and charities that will benefit from the transaction. It's a very unique concept and definitely worth considering if you are looking for more ways to give back to those in need!

There's a new local nonprofit organization,  Benefacting, that unites people who have goods or services to volunteer, those looking for goods and services, and charities that will benefit from the transaction. It's a very unique concept and definitely worth considering if you are looking for more ways to give back to those in need!

Benefacting was started by two Durham residents who wanted to create a way to make it easier for the community to give back to local organizations. There are over 40 Triangle-based charities signed-up on Benefacting.org to benefit from these transactions including Boys and Girls Clubs of Wake County, Harbor in Johnston County,  Meals on Wheels of Durham, Veteran's First in Orange County and many more.

Individuals can offer services like babysitting, cleaning and walking a dog or offer goods like books, handbags and furniture.  Then the person buying the service gives the money to the chosen charity, instead of the person offering the service or goods.  It's a great way for sellers and buyers to give back to our community.
