Johnston County man accused of child sex offenses over six-year period

Miguel Ramirez, of Wilson's Mills, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of sex offense with a child in a case stemming back to six years ago.

WILSONS MILLS, N.C. — A man in the Johnston County town of Wilson's Mills was arrested Tuesday in connection with sex offenses against a child that allegedly occurred over a six-year period.

Miguel B. Ramirez, 50, of 62 Rocks Edge Lane, was jailed under a $350,000 bond on a charge of sex offense with a child, according to Wilson's Mills Police Chief David Hess.

When the alleged crimes began, the child was 6 years old.

Police began investigating Ramirez in February 2013 and arrested him after receiving help from the Selma Police Department, Department of Child Protective Services, the State Bureau of Investigation and the Johnston County District Attorney's Office.
