If you were an astronaut

Posted Updated

If you were an astronaut in space what song would you request for the morning wake-up tune? Please give title of song and the artist who recorded it.

“I Got You Babe” by Sonny and Cher greeted North Carolina astronaut Thomas Marshburn and others aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavor this morning. NASA has been serenading space travelers since the Apollo mission. Some of the songs to make the early NASA play list include “The City of New Orleans,” and “Going Back to Houston” by Dean Martin.

Several of my favorites to be played over the years include “Scotland the Brave,” “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong and “Good Day Sunshine” by the Beatles.

For more information on music in space check out the following link: http://history.nasa.gov/wakeup.htm and examine the pdf file chocked full of fun tunes.

If I were to pick one of my songs to be played in space it would be “Tall Ships” as in spaceships! That would be a thrill!

What about you?  What song would you choose?
