All lanes of Interstate 440 at New Bern Avenue in Raleigh have reopened after being closed for more than three hours.

<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — Interstate 440 at New Bern Avenue reopened to traffic Monday afternoon after police closed all lanes to traffic for more than three hours.

Authorities and emergency officials responded to the area around 12:30 p.m. to help a woman in distress on an overpass.

Shortly before 4 p.m., an ambulance took the woman to a local hospital to be evaluated.

Both directions of I-440 were closed, as well as eastbound traffic on New Bern Avenue.
