The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will hold Wildlife Expos this Saturday that focus on hunting, fishing and other outdoors activities.

The events, which happen across the state, take place in our region in Raleigh and Fayetteville. One event takes place at Lake Wheeler Park in Raleigh from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday. The other is at the John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center in Fayetteville from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday.

Both expos will feature a variety of fun, hands-on activities designed for all ages. They include opportunities to shoot a bow and arrow, handle live reptiles, go kayaking, learn outdoor cooking, go fishing and more. Admission is free. And the events even include a free lunch.

The events mark National Hunting and Fishing Day. No pre-registration is required. The commission's website has more information about these and others around the state.
